This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of rules of professional ethics in advocacy and examines the experience of CIS member states. The author highlights the legal basis for adherence to professional ethics by lawyers and their significance for society and the judicial-legal system. A comparative analysis identifies common and distinctive aspects of ethical rules in the practice of Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and other countries. The article presents scientifically grounded proposals and recommendations for improving rules of professional ethics.
