This article examines the legal issues in further enhancing the pension system in Uzbekistan. The study analyzes the key legislative frameworks governing state and accumulative pension provision, and identifies challenges such as limited coverage, low wage replacement rates, and issues associated with preferential pensions. Based on a comparative analysis with international models, the article proposes reform directions including the development of a three-tier pension scheme, improvements in social insurance mechanisms, and a transition toward corporate pension programs. Special attention is given to adapting legislation to new economic realities and increasing the efficiency of pension provision in the context of high informal employment.
