The article provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of the theoretical and practical problems of countering political and religious extremism, as well as cyberterrorism. Particular attention is paid to defining political extremism as a multifaceted phenomenon located at the extreme fringes of the political spectrum. The author examines the development of relevant legislation in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the CIS countries, summarizes expert discussions on the role of radical ideologies in democratic and transitional systems, and offers specific recommendations for modernizing the provisions of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
