Annotatsiya

In this paper, photoluminescence properties of ZnO nanorods grown by a low-temperature hydrothermal method without seed layer have been investigated. Nanorods possess hexagonal form and their length and diameter are 18−20 and 0.5−1 µm, respectively. On the substrate the nanorods are located chaotically and have predominantly horizontal position. At room temperature under UV excitation ZnO nanorods exhibit photoluminescence related to free exciton and defect emissions. After high temperature annealing in air the free exciton related emission intensity increases and the longwavelength luminescence band moves toward a short-wavelength region of the spectrum. Origin of the observed luminescence bands has been discussed.
