The article deals with the development of the methodology of master classes in Russian language for elementary level students as an effective form of interactive learning. The main attention is paid to the definition of goals and tasks of master classes, principles of their construction, content of classes and pedagogical technologies that contribute to the activation of cognitive activity of students. Specific recommendations and a sample plan of classes are given. The methodology is focused on the development of students’ communicative competence and increasing their motivation to study Russian. It is shown that master-classes as a form of interactive learning contribute to the formation of speech skills, stimulate creative activity and provide a high level of students’ involvement in the educational process.
