This article explores the development of students’ information searching and evaluation skills through the use of multimedia materials in English language teaching. It emphasizes the role of modern information and communication technologies in enhancing language instruction and fostering essential 21st-century skills. By integrating audio, video, and interactive tools such as podcasts, online lectures, and educational platforms, multimedia instruction supports independent learning, increases learner engagement, and improves comprehension of authentic content. The study draws on current pedagogical theories and empirical observations to demonstrate how multimedia not only facilitates language acquisition but also strengthens students’ critical thinking and decision-making abilities when engaging with digital content. It also highlights the importance of training students to distinguish between credible and non-credible sources and to make informed judgments about information relevance and reliability. Practical strategies and methodological recommendations are proposed to guide teachers in creating effective multimedia-based learning environments that promote digital literacy, analytical thinking, and autonomous language learning.
