This article examines the didactic value of gamification as a modern means of developing the professional motivation of economics students while learning English. The relevance of the study stems from the need to improve the practical focus of language training for future economists and to develop a strong understanding of the professional significance of English. The study identified the key criteria for the didactic value of gamification: professional relevance, linguistic appropriateness, motivational focus, quality of feedback, autonomy, and interaction.
