The article analyzes the reception and study of the theory of intertextuality in Uzbek literary studies. It shows that this concept entered national scholarly discourse mainly during the period of independence and was first assimilated through linguistics and translation studies, and later through literary-theoretical research. The article highlights the contributions of theoretical scholars, dedicated monographic works, comparative and applied studies, as well as efforts to connect the concept with the tradition of classical Eastern poetics (talmih, tazmin, iqtibos, nazira). In conclusion, it emphasizes that intertextuality remains an actively studied and promising field of research in Uzbek scholarship and is significant for the analysis of the contemporary historical novel.
