Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the representation of the concept of “education” in the paremiological corpus of the Uzbek language from linguistic-cultural and cognitive perspectives. The research material consists of 140 paremiological units selected through continuous sampling from Uzbek Folk Proverbs, compiled by T. Mirzayev and B. Sarimsoqov, and The Paremiological Dictionary of the Uzbek Language, compiled by H. Berdiyorov and R. Rasulov. The analysis identified five thematic groups representing the axiological component of the concept: the value of knowledge, encouragement to study, the image of the teacher, criticism of ignorance, and experience and practice. The study demonstrates that the axiological core of the concept is constituted by the unequivocally positive evaluation of knowledge, while its periphery consists of normative and admonitory evaluations related to the educational process. The findings can be applied in comparative conceptology, paremiology, and the teaching of Uzbek as a foreign language.
