This article aims to examine the theoretical foundations of writing competence, which is recognized as one of the fundamental language skills in English language learning, and to analyze its linguodidactic characteristics at the B2 proficiency level. The study traces the historical development of writing competence and discusses the changes and innovations that have occurred in approaches to teaching writing over time. Furthermore, the theoretical foundations of writing competence are analyzed from the perspectives of both international educational practices and the contemporary education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
