This article examines the role of grammar in developing speaking skills in a foreign language. The study explores theoretical perspectives and previous scholarly research related to grammar instruction and oral communication. Using methods such as searching, analyzing, and synthesizing academic sources, the article identifies the positive and negative impacts of grammar on development of speaking skills. The findings reveal that grammar helps learners produce accurate and meaningful speech, but excessive focus on grammatical correctness may reduce confidence and speaking fluency. The study concludes that grammar should be integrated into communicative speaking activities to achieve effective language learning outcomes.
