This article examines the paradigmatic relations of nouns in the Tamil language through an analysis of synonymic series. Paradigmatic relations are understood as semantic connections between linguistic units that can occur in the same syntactic position within the language system. The study investigates the semantic, stylistic, and functional characteristics of synonymous nouns and identifies their role in the formation of paradigmatic structures. Furthermore, the relationship between synonymic series and lexical-semantic fields, the factors influencing their development, and their use in different styles of discourse are discussed. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the lexical system of Tamil, the specific features of synonymy, and the paradigmatic relations of nouns.
