The article examines Karakalpak and Russian proverbs and sayings as representations of the national and cultural experience of the respective peoples. The purpose of the research is to identify universal and ethno-specific components in the paremiological fund of the two languages. It has been established that, while there is a significant layer of universal values, Russian and Karakalpak proverbs demonstrate differences in their figurative basis, ethnocultural connotations, and ways of conceptualizing life experience. It is concluded that the paremiological fund serves as an important mechanism for preserving collective memory, transmitting behavioral norms, and forming a national worldview.
