This article presents a comparative analysis of the use of linguistic and stylistic devices in Uzbek and English crime fiction. The study focuses on Charles Dickens’s novel Oliver Twist and Tohir Malik’s novella Alvido… bolalik. The article examines authorial narration, character description, plot and composition, conflict and character formation, spatial representation, landscape depiction, situational description, and the portrayal of characters’ psychological states. The findings reveal that in English literature, particularly in the works of Charles Dickens, stylistic devices tend to have an implicit, ironic, and satirical character, whereas Tohir Malik’s works are distinguished by expressiveness, emotional impact, and imagery rooted in the national mentality.
