This article provides a comprehensive analysis of grammatical relations formed between parts of speech within the syntactic system of the French language. The main objective of the study is to determine how types of syntactic connections such as government, agreement, and adjacency influence parts of speech in French. In addition, the paper reveals the role of syntactic relations in communicative function by comparing theoretical approaches in modern French linguistics with practical language material. The results of the study indicate that syntactic relationships between parts of speech in French are shaped not only by grammatical rules but also by pragmatic and discourse-related factors.
