This article examines the linguocognitive features of antonyms in the Italian language. The study interprets antonyms not only as lexical or semantic opposites but also as phenomena directly related to human thinking, perception, and conceptual worldview. Based on a linguocognitive approach, the paper analyzes the mechanisms of antonym formation in Italian, their place within cognitive models, and their connection with cultural and national patterns of thought. Furthermore, the article illustrates, through examples, the semantic, pragmatic, and cultural interpretation of various Italian antonymic pairs, revealing their influence on the conceptual structures of the language. The results of the research contribute to a deeper understanding of the essence of antonymy and provide a basis for comparative studies of similar phenomena in other languages.
