Annotatsiya

The study of the nature of the representation of the figures of the Author and the Reader in the plot of T. Tolstaya’s novel Kys leads to the conclusion that the discrediting of these instances is postmodern in nature. At the level of the plot, the novel models a postmodern situation of the “death of the author.” The only writing “author” turns out to be merely a scriptor, while the “reader” is incapable of any sufficiently adequate interpretation of the text.
