This article explores professional Russian as a key instrument for the in-depth analysis and interpretation of economic texts. The author argues that proficiency in specialized terminology, understanding of syntactic structures, and mastery of discursive features are essential competencies for uncovering both explicit and implicit meanings in official documents, analytical reports, and news materials. The relevance of this study is driven by the growing demand for critical reading skills amid the information saturation and complexity of modern economic processes. The research employs methods of contextual analysis, aimed at determining precise word meanings through their textual environment, and discourse analysis, which examines the text as a form of social action to reveal authorial intent and ideological stances. The practical section includes an analysis of current examples from economic practice, including those relevant to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The results demonstrate that professional language performs more than just a representative function; it serves an instrumental role as a means of influence, evaluation, and forecasting. The study concludes that the purposeful development of linguistic competence is fundamentally important for working effectively with economic texts and for forming well-grounded professional judgments.
