This article examines the concept of politeness as a significant pragmatic and linguocultural category in modern linguistics. The study explores the theoretical foundations of politeness, the linguistic means of its expression, and its functional characteristics in verbal communication. In addition, the paper analyzes the degree to which politeness has been investigated in Western and Uzbek linguistics, identifying its cultural and discursive aspects.
