Annotatsiya

This article explores the role of proverbs as a tool for improving pronunciation skills in English language practice. Proverbs, as fixed expressions with rhythmic and phonological patterns, offer learners natural models of stress, intonation, and connected speech. Through their repetitive and memorable structure, proverbs can help to improve pronunciation development by reinforcing accurate articulation, rhythm, and fluency. The study examines how incorporating proverbs into language learning activities—such as reading aloud, shadowing, and recitation—can facilitate learners’ awareness of prosodic features. Drawing on both pedagogical theory and practical classroom applications, this article highlights the effectiveness of proverbs in motivating learners, promoting cultural understanding, and improving oral proficiency. The findings suggest that integrating proverbs into pronunciation practice can be a valuable supplement to traditional methods, offering both linguistic and cognitive benefits for English language learners.
