This article describes a methodology for developing independent learning competence in students of higher education institutions in the process of mastering English within the credit-module system, based on WebQuest technology. The study analyzes the linguodidactic capabilities of WebQuest technology, its role in organizing independent learning, and adaptation to the requirements of the credit-module system. A theoretical model has been developed based on the cognitive, operational, and affective components of independent learning competence, and this model has been implemented through the “Oson baho” WebQuest platform. The results obtained during the experimental work showed that the use of WebQuest technology is effective in developing students' independent learning skills.
