This article briefly discusses the role of the reformist ruler Muhammad Rakhimkhan II (Feruz) in the emergence of the Jadid movement in the Khiva Khanate at the end of the 19th century, as well as his activities in such areas as state administration, science, literature, art, healthcare, and translation. The study is based on primary sources of that period, including memoirs, archival materials, and periodical press publications.
