This article examines the concept, essence and content of women’s political rights and determines their place within the universal human rights system. The study analyzes women’s political rights as an inseparable component of democratic governance, constitutional equality, and participation in public administration. Particular attention is paid to international legal standards regulating women’s political rights, including the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. The article studies such political rights as the right to vote and be elected, the right to participate in public administration, the right to establish political associations and participate in political parties, and the right to appeals, rallies and demonstrations. The author also examines feminist legal theories and doctrinal approaches developed by Mary Wollstonecraft, Simone de Beauvoir and Amartya Sen concerning political equality and gender justice. It is concluded that the effective implementation of women’s political rights serves as one of the key indicators of democratic development, social justice and sustainable governance. The article emphasizes that the realization of women’s political rights requires not only constitutional guarantees, but also effective institutional and social mechanisms for their practical implementation.
