Annotatsiya

This study examines traditional Uzbek ornamental complexes (girih and islimi), suzani embroidery, and the principles of Eastern miniature painting as carriers of the national cultural code. The research aims to identify the semantics of key visual motifs and to characterize their composition-organizing functions in the structure of an artwork. The methodology is based on a semiotic approach to the analysis of ornamental and pictorial elements, including the study of their symbolic meanings and compositional roles. The results reveal that the pomegranate symbolizes fertility and unity; the almond (bodom) represents awakening and the protection of life; the Tree of Life embodies the connection between worlds; birds signify freedom and the link between earthly and spiritual realms; and the rosette and star represent the sun, eternity, and divine light. Moreover, three compositional functions of national motifs are identified: rhythmic organization (through the repetition and alternation of elements), spatial structuring (multi-planarity, absence of linear perspective, vertical perspective), and color dominance (local, bright, decorative color as an expressive means). The compositional principles of suzani (centric composition, rhythmic organization, border framing, color as a dominant) and Eastern miniature painting (multi-planarity, “carpet-like” filling, vertical perspective) are characterized. Consequently, the necessity of studying the semantics and compositional patterns of national motifs in professional art education is substantiated. The study highlights the potential for using these findings in the development of teaching materials on composition in children's art schools. As a result, the integration of traditional motifs into art education not only enriches the range of compositional means but also fosters patriotic feelings and national identity.
