Annotatsiya

This article discusses the formation of the Turkestan Committee of the Provisional Government in April 1917. The committee was established by decree of the Provisional Government "to implement a stable order in the Turkestan region based on the principles announced to the entire population on March 6, 1917, and to resolve local issues regarding the administration of the region...". The Turkestan Committee "assumed all authority in the territories of Bukhara and Khiva within the Turkestan region". It comprised representatives from various parties, excluding the Bolshevik party. The article also highlights the challenges faced by the committee.
