This article presents a comparative analysis of the conceptual models of pathological terms in Uzbek and Russian medical discourse. A review of scholarly sources indicates that disease names in both languages form part of the linguistic worldview of speakers, reflecting medical knowledge, yet have received little focused attention and have seldom been the specific object of linguistic study [1]. This paper examines the origins of pathological terminology, the semantic structure of scientific and folk names of illnesses, as well as their metaphorical models and pragmatic functions in discourse. The findings highlight the distinctive conceptualization of the notion of illness in Uzbek and Russian and underscore the importance of term choice in professional medical communication.
