This article examines the organization of students’ learning activities in grades 1–2 during text-based lessons. The paper analyzes the psychological and pedagogical features of working with texts, methods of activating cognitive activity, and teacher–student interaction. The importance of texts in developing the reading, thinking, and writing skills of primary school students is emphasized.
