This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal nature of professional athlete loan agreements, as well as the practical problems arising from their application in professional sports. The study examines the interaction between labor law, civil law, and sports law in regulating relations related to the temporary transfer of athletes between sports clubs. The author substantiates the conclusion that an athlete loan agreement cannot be classified as a classical lease agreement or a standard employment contract, but rather constitutes a complex (mixed) legal structure. Particular attention is paid to issues of the athlete’s consent, early recall, financial obligations, and regulatory conflicts. Based on the research findings, specific proposals aimed at improving the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan are presented.
