This article examines the national and international experience of voluntary testimony. It thoroughly considers the issue of witnesses and victims testifying against suspects and defendants, despite being their close relatives. According to legislation, a witness's role in criminal proceedings is directly linked to their obligations, while on the other hand, the matter of close kinship comes into play.
