Annotatsiya

The article analyzes the changes in land relations that took place in the Turkestan region during the second half of the 19th century and their socio-economic consequences. It highlights that after the conquest of the region by the Russian Empire, traditional forms of land ownership and land use were disrupted, and new systems—state lands, private property, and lease-based relations—were introduced. The study also reveals the impact of these processes on the local population, particularly on peasants and farm laborers, as well as their influence on social stratification and the formation of agrarian policy.
