This article presents a comprehensive study of civil law regulation regarding personal data processing in the hotel industry, considering current legislative requirements in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It analyzes key legislative acts and regulatory documents governing the collection, storage, use, and protection of hotel guests' personal information. Special attention is given to the specific aspects of data processing in the hospitality sector, including the necessity for strict confidentiality, ensuring information security, and upholding data subjects' rights to receive complete and accurate information about the methods and purposes of processing their data. The study identifies existing problems and gaps in law enforcement practices related to insufficient detailing of industry-specific norms and the lack of specialized information security requirements in the hotel sector. It assesses the level of guest awareness regarding their rights and the conditions for processing their personal data, as well as determines the liability of operators in cases of legislative violations. The author examines international experience, particularly the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and suggests mechanisms for adapting these principles to enhance the legal framework in Uzbekistan. Based on the conducted analysis, the article formulates proposals for improving regulatory and legal frameworks aimed at increasing transparency in data processing, ensuring effective protection of guests' rights, and strengthening trust among hotel service market participants. This article will be valuable for legal professionals, government agencies, hotel business operators, and researchers in the field of personal data protection law.
