This article analyzes the historical stages of the development of spiritual and educational work in higher education institutions, their content, and main directions. It examines the ideological approaches and educational methods characteristic of each period and their influence on the socio-moral life of students. The paper provides a consistent overview from the Soviet era to the years of independence and the modern stage. It also highlights the significance of historical experience in shaping today’s system of spiritual and educational activities.
