The article is devoted to the study of the development of crafts in the cities of Khorezm, which were part of the state of the Golden Horde in the XIII-XIV centuries. Written sources, as well as archaeological finds, are used as the basis for the analysis. During this period, the strengthening of trade and economic ties between Khorezm and the cities of Eastern Europe, the Golden Horde, as well as with nomadic peoples contributed to the significant development of handicraft production. The passage of the northern branch of the Great Silk Road through the territory of Khorezm also played an important role. In the 13th-14th centuries, cities such as Old Urgench, Mizdakhan, Shemakha-kala, Shehrlik and Zhanpik-kala became important centers of trade and craft production. Craft districts and workshops were actively developed in these settlements. Particular attention is paid to the development of such crafts as pottery and stone carving in the cities of Khorezm during this period. The products of Khorezm craftsmen, including ceramics, textiles, silk raw materials, as well as soapstone products, found their buyers both in the cities of Eastern Europe and in the Golden Horde.
