The article studies the processes of evolutionary development of composite bows dating back to the archaic and ancient periods of Khorezm. It became known that the production of arrowheads had been established in metalworking workshops since the Bronze Age. In the process of evolutionary development of compound bows in Khorezm, the sphere of influence of the nomadic tribes of the Aral Sea region in the ancient period was highly valued. Scythian bows have been used in Khorezm since the archaic period. This is evidenced by Scythian-type bow arrowheads in the monuments of the Kuyuksay culture. The production of compound bows was established in the ancient settlements of Khorezm. They consist of bone plates and several wooden parts. The ends of the bow and the middle are reinforced with a bone plate. This increased its flexibility and improved its ability to hit a target at a distance. In the early Middle Ages, Khorezm became one of the centers for the production of complex bows in the East. During this period, compound bows were exported to foreign trade.
