This article presents a scholarly analysis of the representation of the horse in the artistic crafts and applied art of the peoples of the Khorezm oasis and examines its mythological, ritual, and symbolic meanings. Based on the study of terracotta figurines, artistic metal objects, ceramic vessels, coins, and seals depicting horses and horsemen discovered at archaeological sites, the article substantiates the significance of the horse image as a divine and political symbol in the culture of ancient and medieval Khorezm. The evolution of the horse image—from totemistic concepts of the ancient period to its status as a state symbol in the Middle Ages—is examined within a chronological and source-based framework.
