Annotatsiya

Transient ischemic attacks (TIA) are one of the most pressing problems in modern neurology and geriatrics. According to the World Health Organization, TIA is characterized by sudden focal neurological deficit due to impaired cerebral circulation, which completely regresses within 24 hours. Epidemiological studies show that the incidence of TIA is steadily increasing with age. If in the 45-54 age group, the incidence is 83 cases per 100,000 population per year, then in the 75-year-old age group, this figure increases to 1500 cases per 100,000 population. The TIA problem is of particular importance in the context of demographic aging of the population. According to UN forecasts, by 2050, the share of people over 60 in the population structure of developed countries will exceed 35%. In this regard, studying the clinical features of TIA in elderly patients is becoming a priority task in healthcare.
