Migraine is one of the most common primary headaches characterized by recurrent attacks of pulsating headaches, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, photophobia, and phonophobia. According to the World Health Organization, migraine is among the top 20 diseases that most strongly affect human quality of life and ranks second among all causes of disability. Epidemiological studies show a pronounced gender specificity of migraine, predominantly in women.
