Annotatsiya

In recent years, photodynamic therapy (PDT) has become an effective and minimally invasiveapproach for treating cancer and infectious diseases. However, conventional photosensitizers(PS) are limited by short absorption wavelengths, poor tissue penetration, and phototoxicity. This study addresses these challenges through the use of next-generation PSs, including porphyrins, chlorins, phthalocyanines, methylene blue, and their derivatives. Photoactive naturalcompounds such as hypericin, curcumin, and furocoumarins (psoralen, bergapten) were analyzedfor their low toxicity and high bioactivity. The potential of nanomaterials (liposomes, gold and graphene nanoparticles) as targeted delivery systems for PSs is also discussed. Theresults demonstrate that nano-based PSs can enhance PDT efficiency, reduce phototoxicity, and mitigate tissue hypoxia.
