Studying the impact of drought on the functioning of the photosynthetic apparatus of genetically modified cotton using chlorophyll fluorescence

Annotatsiya

In this work, the results of a comparative study of the effect of drought on chlorophyll fluorescence and morphophysiological parameters of genetically modified cotton varieties grown in field conditions. The dynamics of changes in the quantum efficiency of photosynthesis during the growing season of genetically modified and control samples of various cotton varieties grown both under drought conditions and under normal irrigation was also studied. Experiments carried out to measure chlorophyll fluorescence showed that when water deficiency occurs in genetically modified cotton varieties, the activity of photosynthesis and the rate of electron transport significantly increases.
