Annotatsiya

The optical absorption and photoluminescence of UPS-923A organic scintillators with a polystyrene base and p-Terphenyl (рTP) and 1,4-Bis(5-phenyloxazolyl benzene (POPOP) additives pTP and POPOP additives, the absorption edge of which is at a level of ~390 nm, have been studied. In the photoluminescence spectrum of the samples in the spectral region of 300−380 nm and 380−500 nm, groups of luminescence are observed related to the fluorescence of the luminescent additive pTP and the spectrum-shifting additive POPOP, respectively. After γ-irradiation, starting with a dose of 106 rad, there is an increase in absorption and the appearance of a wide absorption band (AB), extending up to 550 nm, as well as a decrease in the luminescence intensity in these PL bands, which are caused by degradation of the structure of the aromatic benzene ring in the matrix of the polymer base and destruction of additives.
