Mass spectrum of ions in a two-element Eu2O3 laser plasma

The mass-charge spectra of multiply charged ions in a two-element laser plasma are studied bylaser ionization mass-spectrometry. The package of the mass spectrum of the Eu2O3 ions of thelaser plasma was obtained within the limits of the potential of the electrostatic analyzer U=3−50 V and the power density q=1011 W/cm2. It was revealed that O1+, O2+ ions are clearly observedin the mass spectra at low values (U=3−20 V) of the electrostatic analyzer potential,and Eu1+, Eu2+, Eu3+ ions at relatively high values (U=15−50 V) of the electrostatic analyzerpotential. It has been experimentally shown that the properties of both light and heavy ions inplasma depend on the conditions for the entry of gas atoms into the target and on secondaryprocesses occurring after the formation of a dense plasma near the sample surface.
