In the paper the catalogs of galaxy clusters are analyzed that have been published based on observationaldata to date. Based on the results of the study, a consolidated catalog was compiledcontaining 213 of the richest galaxy clusters. The main observational data of the compiled consolidatedcatalog were obtained at the Apache Point Observatory (USA). The red shifts of veryrich galaxy clusters included in our catalog vary in the range 0.08<z<0.56. We have estimatedthe masses of very rich galaxy clusters from observational data. It turned out that very rich galaxyclusters have masses μ >1015 μ 0 We also tried to explain the concept of the richness parameterof galaxy clusters. Empirical relationships have been found between the masses of galaxyclusters and their richness parameter.
