Theoretical analysis and experimental study of the interaction of light waves in a fiber coupler revealed the optimal conditions for the manufacture of fiber couplers for optical communication systems. The dependence of excess optical losses, due to the voltage in the fiber material, on the drawing speed at various fusion temperatures is established.
