This article provides a theoretical, legal, and criminological analysis of the factors affecting the maintenance of public order in large cities. The study examines the impact of urbanization, population density, urban infrastructure, the socio-psychological environment, transport and communication systems, and other relevant factors on public order. As a result of the research, the author develops a classification of the factors influencing the maintenance of public order and systematizes the mechanisms through which they exert their influence. The proposed classification may serve as a theoretical and methodological basis for the comprehensive assessment of the criminogenic situation, risk-based territorial differentiation, and evidence-based planning of resources for maintaining public order.
