The article analyzes the significance and effectiveness of continuous video surveillance systems in the activities of internal affairs agencies for maintaining public order. The research aims to evaluate the role of video surveillance systems in ensuring public safety based on information and communication technologies, examine their technical and legal aspects, and determine directions for improving the field based on advanced foreign experience and national needs. The analysis results showed that video surveillance systems are an effective tool for crime prevention, prompt detection and disclosure of offenses, preventive action, and coordination of law enforcement agencies' activities. However, their technical condition, directions, legal foundations, and integration mechanisms do not fully meet modern requirements. The article describes, on a scientific and practical basis, the priority directions for improving video surveillance systems in harmony with foreign experience and national conditions.
