The article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of sociological monitoring of higher education quality in the context of educational modernization. The role of monitoring as an effective tool for continuous observation, evaluation, and forecasting of educational processes is substantiated. It is emphasized that the development of the digital economy and the training of competitive professionals depend directly on the quality of higher education. The study analyzes the subjects and objects of monitoring, its goals, criteria, and evaluation indicators within a systemic approach. Special attention is paid to diagnostic and expert assessment methods as key components of quality monitoring. Existing challenges in implementing monitoring practices are identified, and recommendations for improving the higher education quality assessment system are proposed.
