The article examines verbal influence strategies in Russian and Uzbek communicative discourse from a comparative pragmalinguistic perspective. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to investigate the national and cultural features of speech behavior in the context of expanding intercultural communication. Special attention is paid to the strategies of persuasion, inducement, politeness, self-presentation, preservation of communicative harmony, and status distance. The comparative analysis shows that Russian communicative discourse is more focused on the direct expression of position, logical and emotional argumentation, and expressiveness, whereas Uzbek discourse is characterized by indirect forms of influence, respect for the addressee, reliance on speech etiquette, and socio-status norms. The results of the study may be used in the theory of intercultural communication, pragmalinguistics, linguoculturology, and the practice of teaching Russian and Uzbek.
