The article investigates the theoretical foundations of onomastic terminology. It examines the formation of the onomastic terminological system, its relationship with general linguistic terminology, the systemic properties of onomastic terms, and a comparative analysis of Russian and Uzbek onomastic terminology. The study analyzes the application of the fundamental principles of terminology theory—systematicity, precision, monosemy, and stylistic neutrality—to onomastic terms. Based on Podolskaya’s dictionary, the structure of the Russian onomastic terminological system is revealed, and problems related to the normalization of Uzbek onomastic terminology are discussed. The results serve as a foundation for identifying the specific features of onomastic terminology and its further normalization. The conclusion presents the main findings and recommendations.
