This study examines literary translation from a linguocultural perspective, emphasizing its dual nature as both a linguistic and creative process. It synthesizes key theoretical approaches from Uzbek and international scholars, highlighting the central role of equivalence, cognitive interpretation, and intercultural communication in translation. The paper explores how cultural factors, interference, and linguocultural units influence translation adequacy and the transfer of meaning between languages. It concludes that successful translation requires not only linguistic competence but also deep cultural awareness and an interdisciplinary approach in order to achieve equivalence and preserve the artistic and cultural essence of the original text.
