This article examines the pragmalinguistic interpretation of the notions of speaker intention, responsibility, and accountability in the process of communication. In particular, the meaning expressed by the speaker in speech acts is analyzed not only as a means of transmitting information but also as a factor that forms certain social commitments. The study draws on H. P. Grice’s theory of communicative intention and Robert Brandom’s concept of discursive commitment to explain how a speaker assumes responsibility through utterances. In addition, the mechanisms by which the hearer interprets these commitments through inferential processes are discussed. As a result, communication is interpreted not merely as an exchange of meaning but as a process that shapes social and pragmatic relations between participants.
